Behind the grand plane trees of Place Voltaire lies Le Voltaire, a 12-room hotel in the heart of Arles' historic center.
Both rooted in the city and open to the surrounding landscapes, it serves as an ideal starting point for exploring Arles, the Camargue, and the Alpilles. Guests stay here to discover the city and the region, but also to find peace and the gentle Mediterranean light.
Just a few minutes' walk from Arles train station and the city's main car parks, Le Voltaire enjoys a unique location: in the heart of the pedestrian historic center while remaining exceptionally easy to access. A code allows guests to pass through traffic bollards to drop off their luggage directly in front of the hotel at any time.

the hotel
Completely renovated in spring 2026. Le Voltaire is a 1950s modernist hotel nestled in Arles.
An accessible and welcoming hotel, a place designed for slowing down, breathing, working, writing, walking, reconnecting, or simply experiencing Arles in a different way.
Arlesian artists like Arsène Welkin and Grégoire Albon have adorned the rooms and common areas, transforming the hotel into a natural extension of the city and Arlesian life.
From the balconies, you can hear the wind in the leaves and watch the light change throughout the day. Le Voltaire offers a way to be at the heart of the action while enjoying the tranquility of a cozy space. Indeed, comfort has been a particular focus, with significant acoustic and thermal insulation work carried out during the renovation. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with double glazing to ensure peace and coolness even in the height of the Arlesian summer. Sleep quality was central to the project, thanks to high-end bedding, carefully selected materials, and local honey-scented toiletries.
THE ROOMS
Le Voltaire offers 12 rooms: 6 superior rooms with a 160 cm queen-size bed and 6 cabin rooms with a 140 cm double bed.
All rooms feature a private toilet & shower, 5-star bedding, air conditioning, double glazing, and enhanced insulation. Superior rooms offer more space and can accommodate a baby cot upon request.
Designed as true urban retreats, all rooms have a private balcony that naturally extends living space outdoors. Here, you can enjoy your first coffee facing the trees, read a few pages in the shade, or simply soak up the southern light.
Some superior rooms offer a view of the arenas. The cabin rooms are designed as urban cocoons, intelligently conceived, compact, and comfortable, offering peace and rest in the heart of the city, at the best conditions.
Whether for a few days or several weeks, Le Voltaire's rooms are designed for slowing down, resting, working, writing, or simply experiencing Arles in a different way.
Unlimited specialty coffee, filtered still and sparkling water available for all rooms.

La Cantine du Voltaire: The Mediterranean at your table
Le Voltaire now offers "La Cantine du Voltaire," open from morning for breakfast on the sunny terrace until evening, serving shared plates that pay homage to all Mediterranean cuisines: tapas, mezze, pizzettes...
The terrace and restaurant naturally extend the Voltaire experience. The cuisine celebrates the Mediterranean in all its diversity. Inspired by Italy, Greece, Syria, Tunisia, Spain, and the South of France, it highlights seasonal vegetables, fresh herbs, olive oil, spices, fish, and shared dishes.
At La Cantine, you can come down for a coffee, work for a few hours, have lunch in the sun, go back up for a siesta after exhibitions, or return from the beach with salty skin before meeting friends over local natural wines or an Arlesian beer.
